PVL on Tour returned to the iconic FilOil EcoOil Centre at San Juan City yesterday, July 1, and the Cignal HD Spikers continued their winning streak while the PLDT Home Fiber High Speed Hitters recorded their first win of the tournament in their debut match.
A Clean 3-Set Sweep for Both the HD Spikers and High Speed Hitters
Cignal extended its dominant form as they handed the Creamline Cool Smashers their first loss of the tournament.
Despite a late rally by Creamline in the third set which had them saving three match points and tying the frame at 24-all, the HD Spikers held firm. Heather Guino-o briefly regained match point before Creamline tied it again at 26. Erika Santos and Sheena Toring exchanged blows until Ishie Lalongisip sealed the win with consecutive kills after a tense hour and 43-minute battle.

Santos led the charge with 18 points, while Lalongisip contributed 15, rounding out her performance with strong floor defense. Setter Gel Cayuna dished out 22 excellent sets and added five points, while libero Buding Duremdes tallied 16 digs.
Cignal next faces Chery Tiggo on July 19 in Iloilo, aiming to extend its winning streak.
Creamline, which fell to 2-1 after wins against Solar Spikers and the Chargers, hopes to bounce back against ZUS Coffee on July 19 as well.
