Alas Pilipinas Men remained winless at the 20th Asian Games after losing to Indonesia, 23‑25, 26‑24, 22‑25, 21‑25, in the classification round at Komaki Park Arena in Aichi‑Nagoya, Japan.

The defeat extended the Philippines’ losing streak to 4 games after the squad went winless in Pool D, leaving Alas to compete in the 13th‑16th place classification phase.

Indonesia took control of the match through its attacks, converting 59 of its 120 attempts for a 49.2 percent success rate.

Alas Pilipinas Men’ Effort Not Enough

Leo Ordiales led the Philippines with 13 points on 11 attacks and 2 aces, while Marck Espejo and Buds Buddin chipped in 11 points each. Jude Garcia also reached double figures with 10 points.

Josh Ybañez made his presence felt on the defensive side, finishing with 16 excellent digs and 16 excellent receptions. Team captain Bryan Bagunas saw limited action throughout the four‑set match.

Indonesia leaned on Boy Arnez Arabi, who topped all scorers with 20 points. Fauzan Nibras added 17 points on 13 attacks, 3 blocks, and 1 ace.

Alas Pilipinas Men will try to notch its first win in the Asian Games as it faces Kazakhstan on Friday, October 2, in the 13th‑16th place classification phase.
