BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid was among those impressed with Stephen Loman’s return to the promotion at BRAVE CF 108 on September 6, despite the result ending in defeat.
In the aftermath of the event at the Pula Arena in Croatia, Shahid praised Loman’s effort:
“It was great to see Stephen back in the BRAVE CF cage. He went straight into a difficult matchup and showed the heart, skill, and determination that made him a World Champion with us. His performance reminded everyone why he has always been one of the division’s best fighters.”
Shahid also reiterated the promotion’s support for its inaugural bantamweight champion:
“When Stephen returned, we promised to give him the platform to compete at the highest level again, and that commitment remains. We want to see what he can accomplish from here.”
Loman’s Foiled Return
Loman faced No. 1-ranked contender Lasha Abramishvili in the co-main event, easing concerns about ring rust after three years away. While he landed his share of strikes, Abramishvili proved the sharper fighter overall. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for the Georgian, extending his winning streak to nine.
For Loman, the loss dropped his career record to 17-4.
The 31-year-old Ifugao native, however, refused to be discouraged. Instead, he viewed the fight as a learning experience:
“I wanted to win, but I can still take a lot of positives from this fight. I learned things about myself and my game, and I believe this experience will help me in my next fight. I proved to myself that I can still compete with a world-class fighter,” Loman said.
“Three years is a long time to be away, so getting back in there and having a competitive fight gives me a lot of confidence. Now I know what I need to work on.”
