The future of the Scuderia Ferrari HP Formula 1 racing team remains in good hands, as longtime driver Charles Leclerc is set to remain with the squad after inking a new contract extension.

Having been with the Maranello‑based crew since 2019, Leclerc took to social media to formally announce his stay, thanking the organization and the loyal tifosi for their undying support throughout the years.

“I know that people will always question your decisions when it comes to Formula 1, but when it came to this, for me, the answer was always clear,” Leclerc said.

“To everyone in Maranello… Thank you. And to the tifosi, your passion is a big part of why Ferrari is so special and your support over these years has meant much more than what I can put into words,” he added.

Ferrari, Leclerc Remain Top Contenders

Despite already signing a contract extension in 2024, Leclerc’s new deal is set to keep the driver with the red‑and‑yellow for the “coming seasons.” Although some reports indicate the Monegasque driver will remain with the team until 2028.

The extension also comes at a timely moment, as the 28‑year‑old is set to compete in his home grand prix in Monaco this Sunday, where he will look to replicate his 2024 maiden victory.

The extension keeps Ferrari in the hunt for a constructors championship, as Leclerc, along with racing icon Lewis Hamilton, will look to eclipse last year’s campaign where they finished fourth.

“The dream is still alive, and I’m proud to continue chasing it with you,” he said.

“Forza Ferrari.”
