Alas Pilipinas stars Eya Laure and Alyssa Solomon earned spots in the 2026 SEA Women’s V Cup Leg 2 Dream Team after helping the Philippines secure a historic silver medal on Sunday at Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand.
Solomon was named Best Opposite Spiker for the second straight leg and fourth time overall, while Laure earned her first Best Outside Hitter recognition in the regional tournament.
Laure, Solomon Buck Slow Starts
Laure finished as the third-highest scorer in the second leg with 44 points, just one behind Vietnam’s Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Pham Quynh Huong, who shared the scoring lead with 45 points each.
After being held to just 5 points in the Philippines’ loss to Thailand, Laure bounced back with 22 points against Vietnam before adding 17 more in the silver medal-clinching victory over Indonesia.
Solomon, meanwhile, ranked fourth among the tournament’s top scorers with 42 points.
The former National University standout also had a quiet start against Thailand, finishing with 6 points, but quickly found her rhythm with 17 points against Vietnam and a game-high 19 points in the Philippines’ four-set victory over Indonesia.
Rest of the Dream Team
Thailand’s Sasipapron Janthawisut continued her dominant run in the tournament, claiming her second consecutive Most Valuable Player award alongside the Best Outside Hitter citation.
Her fellow Thai stars Pornpun Guedpard and Thatdao Nuekjang also made the Dream Team, earning Best Setter and one of the Best Middle Blocker spots, respectively.
Vietnam’s Tran Thi Bich Thuy took the other Best Middle Blocker honor, while Indonesia’s Indah Guretno was named Best Libero.
The individual awards capped a memorable second leg for Alas Pilipinas, which bounced back from a winless opening leg to claim the Philippines’ first silver medal in the SEA Women’s V Cup.
