Not too long ago, Ishie Lalongisip was trying to stop the Creamline Cool Smashers from winning another championship.
Now, the former Cignal HD Spikers standout is hoping to help the league’s most successful franchise add to its trophy collection.
After spending the past few seasons facing the Cool Smashers in some of the Premier Volleyball League’s biggest matches, Lalongisip is embracing a new chapter as one of Creamline’s newest additions in the 2026 PVL On Tour.
“Sobrang saya kasi dati kapag Creamline-Cignal, parang ano rin siya, sobrang exciting na rin,” Lalongisip said.
Lalongisip Settling into Creamline’s Winning Culture
The 24-year-old outside hitter was among Cignal’s reliable contributors during the All-Filipino Conference, helping the HD Spikers reach the Finals before falling to Creamline in the championship series.
Now, wearing a different jersey, Lalongisip is eager to immerse herself in the culture that has made the Cool Smashers the league’s gold standard.
“Ngayon, nakasama ko na sina Ate Jema, then ’yung mga iba kong teammates. Super excited na ako at looking forward po ako sa lahat ng magiging learnings ko sa Creamline,” she said.
She also admitted that one quality always stood out whenever she played against her new team.
“Kahit sa pressured moments, ’yung Creamline talaga nakikita ko na intact sila at happy-happy lang sa paglalaro.”
Lalongisip immediately got an opportunity to contribute in her unofficial debut, stepping up as Creamline played without veterans Tots Carlos and Alyssa Valdez in its PVL On Tour opener against the Nxled Chameleons.
She responded with 9 points off the bench to help the Cool Smashers earn a four-set victory and begin their preseason campaign on a winning note.
Reunion of Sorts Greets Lalongisip
The match also turned into an unexpected reunion as Lalongisip found herself on the opposite side of the net against former Cignal teammates Gel Cayuna and Jackie Acuña, who now suit up for Nxled.
“Sobrang saya. Natatawa lang nila kami lang una, tapos kapag nagkakatapat kami sa harap ng net, parang smile-smile lang tapos tingin-tingin, eye contact tapos tawa-tawa lang din,” she shared.
“Nakaka-miss sila kasama.”
As she settles into her new surroundings, Lalongisip hopes to continue learning from Creamline’s veteran core while carving out her own role with the defending champions.
