Filipina Muay Thai star Islay Erika Bomogao continued her dominant rise on the global stage with a spectacular knockout victory over Thailand’s Klinpaka Por Thaisong in their atomweight clash at ONE Friday Fights 164 on July 31.
The 23-year-old Klinpaka posed a tough challenge for Bomogao in the opening round, utilizing her long reach and sharp kicks to keep Bomogao at bay and gain the upper hand. But the Team Bagsik standout stayed patient, and it paid off. In the second round, she started to close that distance, landed her shots, and slowly took control of the fight.

Then came the third round, where the Baguio native showcased her devastating striking power, landing a perfectly timed right hook that sent Klinpaka crashing to the canvas just 13 seconds into the frame. The Thai fighter was unable to continue, suffering her first defeat in the promotion.
In her post-fight interview, Bomogao revealed that patience was the ultimate key to her victory, admitting she spent the first two rounds calculating the distance. The decisive moment came in the third, when her corner asked her to release a straight hand—which she executed to perfection, delivering the explosive finish.
The emphatic win marked Bomogao’s third straight knockout victory and also extended her unblemished record to 5-0. It also earned the Filipina phenom a THB 350,000 performance bonus and the coveted US$100,000 ONE Championship contract, officially securing her spot on the promotion’s main roster.
