Laki Play is expanding its grassroots basketball efforts through its Court Revival initiative, which focuses on refurbishing existing basketball courts in communities across Luzon.

The initiative involves updating community courts with new designs, basketball-inspired visuals, and other improvements intended to make these spaces more appealing and accessible to local players and residents.

Laki Play’s Court Revival initiative has already reached several communities, including Brgy. 113 in Caloocan, Brgy. 128 in Pasay, Brgy. Calawitan, Brgy. Magmarale, Brgy. Salapungan, Parañaque, and the KQ Court in Muntinlupa.

Each location is part of the initiative’s ongoing efforts to improve existing community basketball spaces, providing venues that local players and residents can use for games, tournaments, and other community activities.

Supporting Basketball Where It Begins

Grassroots basketball plays an important role in the development of the sport in the Philippines.

Many Filipino players develop their interest in basketball through neighborhood courts, barangay leagues, community tournaments, and casual games with friends. These local courts serve as spaces where players practice, compete, and build connections within their communities.

Through the Court Revival initiative, Laki Play aims to support these grassroots spaces by giving existing courts a fresh identity while maintaining their role as venues for basketball and community activities.

According to Laki Play, the initiative is intended not only to improve the appearance of the courts but also to provide spaces that communities can continue to use and maintain.

More Opportunities for Local Communities

Refurbished basketball courts can serve purposes beyond regular games.

They can provide venues for barangay tournaments, basketball clinics, community events, local activities, and other programs that bring residents together.

For young players, these courts offer spaces to practice and develop their skills. Local teams can use them for competitions, while residents can continue to gather, watch games, and participate in community activities.

Through these improvements, the initiative aims to encourage greater participation in basketball and support the continued use of local courts within their communities.

Expanding the Court Revival Initiative

As the Court Revival initiative continues, Laki Play plans to reach more basketball courts and communities across Luzon.

Working with local partners and communities, the program aims to identify additional courts that could benefit from refurbishment and updated facilities.

Looking ahead, Laki Play is also considering expanding the Court Revival initiative to other provinces across the Philippines, potentially extending the program to more local basketball communities.

The planned expansion reflects the initiative’s focus on existing community courts and their role in grassroots basketball development.

Continuing Support for Grassroots Basketball

The Court Revival initiative is part of Laki Play’s broader involvement in local sports and basketball-related community programs.

By focusing on spaces where residents play, train, compete, and gather, the initiative seeks to support grassroots basketball and contribute to the maintenance and use of local sports facilities.

From Caloocan and Pasay to Parañaque, Muntinlupa, and other communities, the program has reached several locations across Luzon, with additional expansion planned.

As the initiative moves forward, Laki Play aims to continue working with local communities to refurbish basketball courts and support opportunities for people to participate in the sport.
