There’s just no stopping the Super Family. ONIC PH continued its reign in Week 2, sweeping Twisted Minds before outlasting a fierce challenge from Omega Esports to solidify their grip on top of the standings in MPL PH Season 18.
ONIC Overpowers Young TWIS
The Super Family faced the revamped Twisted Minds on the first day of Week 2. Both sides played it safe to open Game 1, trading objectives while avoiding unnecessary fights. The teams split the first two Turtles, but just when Twisted Minds looked poised to secure the third, Kingkong sneaked in from an unexpected angle on Hirara and snatched it away.
The first Lord contest told a different story. Both sides fought for control at the 10‑minute mark, with TWIS striking first by taking out Kingkong. ONIC answered immediately, eliminating two TWIS members before both teams disengaged. The action resumed quickly, with BennyQT ripping into ONIC’s frontline with massive damage. Savero, however, found the perfect angle to strike back and took down the TWIS marksman.
The Super Family had the upper hand from there and never let go. ONIC took complete control at the 16‑minute mark, securing the Lord and wiping out four TWIS members to close out Game 1.
ONIC carried that momentum straight into Game 2, dictating the map and controlling the early team fights. Savero and SuperFrince spearheaded ONIC’s strong start, positioning themselves perfectly to consistently deal massive damage. TWIS simply couldn’t find an answer as ONIC pulled away and secured the series.
Savero delivered a steadying presence for ONIC in both games against TWIS, providing key firepower for a combined 3‑1‑13 KDA. SuperFrince was virtually untouched, putting up a 2‑0‑5 line on Lunox and 2‑0‑7 on Novaria, while SuperYoshi proved to be a game‑changer, anchoring the team on Mathilda and executing sharp playmaking on Chou.
Omega Brings the Fight, but ONIC Prevails
The final day of the week pitted the Super Family against a dangerous Omega Esports squad. Long regarded as a “lason” to the league’s heavyweights, Omega had already lived up to that reputation by bringing down the previously undefeated Team Falcons. Now, ONIC had to weather the same storm.
The Barangay did just that in Game 1, punishing ONIC after an early jungle invasion to secure a quick two‑man wipe. The Super Family wouldn’t take long to strike back, however. Near the five‑minute mark, even after Omega gained an initial edge in a team fight, Kirk on Atlas flipped the script by landing a perfect Fatal Links on two Omega members. Savero also came in clutch, finding a perfect SOD entry and picking up a crucial double kill to turn the fight around.
From that point on, everything fell apart for the Barangay. A forced fight near the seven‑minute mark backfired completely as ONIC dismantled them for a 4‑for‑0 trade. The Super Family kept their foot on the gas, padding their lead with three more kills before securing a full team wipe to close out Game 1 in just 11 minutes.
ONIC once again dictated the fight in Game 2, taking control of the opening minutes. This time, however, the Barangay answered back, finding key wins to even out the game by the seven‑minute mark. Omega then took charge in the ensuing minutes, building a 10‑6 kill advantage with Cull leading the charge on Hanabi with a flawless 5‑0‑2 start.
However, the momentum shifted once again at the 16‑minute mark. ONIC outplayed Omega during the Lord contest, with Kingkong securing the steal. Despite losing the objective, Omega held their ground and comfortably defended their base.
The deciding moment came at the 20‑minute Lord. This time, Omega came out on top. Capitalizing on a missed ultimate from Kirk, the Barangay swooped in to secure the Lord while taking down two ONIC members in the process. The rest of the Super Family scrambled back toward their base, but Omega quickly caught up with them. Despite Savero’s valiant attempt to fight back, the Barangay completed the comeback and leveled the series.
Still, the Super Family stood tall in Game 3. Despite the close kill count, ONIC controlled all the major objectives and built a 5K gold lead in the first 11 minutes.
Shortly after, the Super Family delivered in a crucial skirmish in the mid lane. While Omega managed to eliminate SuperFrince, ONIC immediately answered back. SuperYoshi landed a crucial knock‑up on three Omega members, allowing Kirk to follow up with a three‑man Fatal Links. Kingkong then capitalized on the setup, cleaning up with a triple kill to seal the victory and keep ONIC undefeated.
