No team in the league enters the new season with more to prove than the Phoenix squad. Following a dismal last-place finish in Season 17, TNC Pro Team sent shockwaves through the MLBB scene by completely dismantling their core and parting ways with MLBB legends Ch4knu and BennyQT. Now fully retooled, the Phoenix are looking to start their new era with a statement in Season 18.
New Chapter for TNC
TNC Pro Team revealed their brand-new lineup on Wednesday, showcasing an intriguing blend of veterans and rising stars.
Headlining their newest additions are MDL Philippines standouts Ervin “Vinnn” Franco and Zehn. Mid laner Vinnn brings a proven track record from the developmental league, having secured the MDL Season 6 title and a runner-up finish in Season 7 with Twisted Minds RWE. Zehn, on the other hand, is a standout roamer from Aurora Hunters who led his squad to the Season 7 MDL championship in just his first year.
They will be joined by seasoned talents in the side lanes. EXP laner Nowee “Ryota” Macasa is a six-year veteran who previously played for regional powerhouses ONIC ID and ONIC PH. Opposite him in the gold lane is Jomari “Jowm” Pingol, who adds valuable international pedigree after playing professionally in both India and Malaysia. Completing the lineup is their star jungler Justine “Zaida” Palma, the only holdover from last season.
Hunger and Redemption
Recovering from a bottom-table finish is never easy—let alone after losing two of the biggest stars in the league.
Yet that is the exact challenge facing this new TNC squad in Season 18. Heavy responsibility falls on the shoulders of Zaida, who previously powered the team to an incredible third-place run in Season 16. Now, he has the perfect opportunity to prove himself again and further solidify his status among the country’s top junglers—only this time as the team’s undisputed leader.
Fortunately for Zaida, he heads into the new season with a fresh supporting cast, with each member having plenty of motivation. Rookies Vinnn and Zehn are ready to make the leap from MDL and announce themselves on the grand stage, while veterans Ryota and Jowm are chasing redemption of their own, looking to silence their doubters and prove that they still have what it takes to compete at the highest level.
There is still a long road ahead, but if this newly assembled roster can build chemistry quickly, they just might have all the pieces required to help the Phoenix rise once again.
