The Adamson Lady Falcons, behind the inimitable Shaina Nitura, continue to find their rhythm at the right time, leaning on a collective mindset as they push for a Final Four return in the UAAP Season 88 Women’s Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Falcons surged with back-to-back straight-set wins over fellow contenders, the UST Golden Tigresses, and the UP Fighting Maroons.
The wins improved Adamson to an 8-5 record, good for solo third place, and put the Lady Falcons one victory away from securing a Final Four berth for the first time since Season 85.
“Siguro God’s will eh, hindi ko rin alam. Siyempre gusto rin ng kabila. So siguro nagma-matter talaga kung sino ang mas may gusto, at kung sino yung mas nagre-respond nang tama at applicable sa sitwasyon na yun,” said Nitura.
“I think sa ginagalawan namin, pinapaboran kami on how we respond talaga as a team. Talagang sine-set aside namin ‘yung individual or pansarili—naka-focus kami on helping the team to get into the Final Four,” she added.
Shaina Nitura Leading Adamson‘s Push
Unsurprisingly, Shaina Nitura has been at the forefront of Adamson’s surge, delivering 19 points, 14 excellent receptions, and 10 excellent digs against the Golden Tigresses, before erupting for 26 points, 6 excellent digs, and 6 excellent receptions against the Fighting Maroons.
With momentum on their side, the Lady Falcons now turn their focus to a crucial matchup against the FEU Lady Tamaraws later today at 5:00 p.m. at the Quadricentennial Pavilion.
Both the Lady Falcons and the Lady Tamaraws remain in contention for a Final Four spot, alongside the Golden Tigresses.
“I think everyone naman pag may gusto, talagang gagawa ng paraan. Kailangan lang magtiwala at mag-respond nang maayos. I just have to trust and respond well, and trust God’s will palagi. Kung hindi man ngayon, maybe we just have to be patient and wait for the right time,” Nitura ended.
