The Philippines’ own Lito Adiwang is aiming to make a statement in his much-anticipated return to ONE Championship when he faces Indonesian veteran Eko Roni Saputra in a 140-pound catchweight MMA bout on the undercard of ONE Fight Night 43: Tang vs. Gasanov on May 16.
Adiwang Finding His Way at 135
Respected by fans for his explosive striking, the 33-year-old will look to secure his second straight victory since moving up to the 135-pound flyweight division. He announced his arrival in November with a buzzer-beating first-round TKO win over Mauro Mastromarini.
Known as the “Thunder Kid,” Adiwang spent nearly six years competing in ONE’s 125-pound strawweight division before deciding to move up in weight. His decision came after a unanimous decision loss to Keito Yamakita in February 2025, which snapped a three-fight winning streak.
An Opponent Looking to End Skid
Meanwhile, Saputra, 34, is eager to end his four-fight skid, which halted a seven-fight winning streak—all first-round finishes, six by knockout and one by submission. Training out of Evolve MMA, Saputra is familiar with Adiwang’s style, having previously defeated fellow Filipinos Kaji Ebin and Ramon Gonzales early in his ONE tenure.
Adiwang, on the other hand, has looked revitalized since joining Soma Fight Club in Bali, Indonesia, following a long run with Team Lakay and a brief stint at HIIT Studio. With renewed focus, he is determined to earn his 11th win under the ONE banner at Saputra’s expense.
