The UE Red Warriors once again found themselves short of completing a fourth-quarter comeback after running out of gas against the FEU Tamaraws in a 94-83 loss on Wednesday, November 4, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
With the loss, the Recto-based squad has now dropped its 30th straight game, falling to 0-10 in the UAAP Season 89 Men’s Basketball Tournament. Furthermore, the loss against FEU officially eliminated them from producing a miraculous trip to the Final Four.
Sophomore guard Lance Sabroso remained UE’s constant bench spark, producing 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 stocks to lead the second unit. Despite the postseason-eliminating loss, Sabroso remains focused on halting the Red Warriors’ losing streak this season.
Sabroso Keeps Trust in UE Teammates
Still searching for their first win in over two years, Sabroso remains confident in the team’s ability to secure a maiden victory with only four games left in the season, while vowing to give his all once he steps onto the hardwood.
The 5-foot-10 guard added that keeping trust and confidence in his teammates plays a key role in their second-round performance, especially when sparking late runs to push opposing teams to the brink.
Kaya ‘yun lang ‘yung key doon,” Sabroso said.
The Red Warriors will look to break their losing streak against the Adamson Soaring Falcons on Saturday, November 7, at the same venue.
