The Macau import is on a completely different level offensively. After scoring at least 30 points in each of his four previous games, he raised the bar even higher today, going 10-for-15 from two while adding six triples to finish as the leading scorer of the day. He particularly stood out in the second half, where he scored 30 points to help bring his team back into the game.
Tirrell Dwayne Brown II TGR PF 36 PTS | 10 REB | 7 AST | 57.5 FPS
The Titan import set the tone early against Macau with 14 first-half points before taking over in the fourth quarter with a 16-point explosion to seal the win. He did heavy damage inside the arc, converting 16 of his 23 two-point attempts to finish with a new conference-high. Outside of their game against SMB, Brown has been dominant, scoring around the 30-point mark while grabbing double-digit rebounds in every game this conference.
Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson TNT PF 22 PTS | 10 REB | 5 STL | 52.5 FPS
Offensively, Hollis-Jefferson continues to have a difficult time, going 14-for-39 from two while averaging five turnovers in his first two games. Despite that, he continues to find ways to contribute, posting game-high marks in rebounds, assists and steals.
Ramon Cao MGP C 24 PTS | 12 REB | 4 AST | 44.4 FPS
Limited to just 9 points in their win against Terrafirma, the center responded strongly today, going 9-for-14 from two for his seventh 20-point outing in the league. He also dominated the boards, posting double-digit rebounds for the third time in four games.
DeQuan Jones NLX SF 27 PTS | 7 REB | 2 BLK | 41.9 FPS
Jones continued his steady offensive production for NLEX, scoring 17 points in the first half and eight in the fourth quarter to finish as the game’s leading scorer. While he isn’t among the league’s most dominant scorers, he has been remarkably efficient, averaging 26.1 points per game on 54.7% shooting from inside the arc through six games.
Damian Chongqui MGP PG 18 PTS | 4 REB | 9 AST | 34.3 FPS
Excluding the game in which he was ejected, this was his worst scoring performance of the conference. He was off from two, converting just 5-of-14, while he continues to have a difficult time from the three, converting just 3-of-18 over his last six games. However, he made up for his off night by setting a new conference high in assists.
Jeffrey Ma MGP SG 18 PTS | 10 REB | 3 AST | 33.5 FPS
This was easily his best game of the conference. The Macau guard took over on offense, hitting 8-of-12 on two-pointers for a conference-best output. He was equally impressive on the boards, grabbing six offensive rebounds to finish as one of the game’s top rebounders.
Aristotle Dionisio TGR PF 8 PTS | 6 REB | 3 STL | 28.7 FPS
The veteran provided plenty of positives in their win against Macau, posting his third game of the conference with five or more rebounds and also his third with at least three stocks. Offensively, he had a decent outing, knocking down two threes, but the team will need him to be much better moving forward.
Joshua Eugene Munzon TGR SF 18 PTS | 6 REB | 5 AST | 28.7 FPS
Munzon played a major role in their win over Macau. Offensively, he got going early, scoring the team’s first eight points in the first quarter. While he had some struggles early in the conference, he has since picked up his game, averaging 20.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists over their last three games.
Robert Lee Bolick NLX PG 10 PTS | 5 REB | 5 AST | 27.5 FPS
In one of his worst games of the season, Bolick struggled to find any flow on offense, shooting just 4-of-12 and finishing with 10 points or fewer for only the third time in two conferences. Elsewhere, his production was also below his usual standard.
Glenn Khobuntin TNT PF 13 PTS | 5 REB | 2 BLK | 26.5 FPS
TNT got a massive spark from its veteran forward, who delivered a season-high performance. From the three-point area, he was locked in today, converting 3-of-6 which is a big improvement after going 1-of-9 in his first five games of the conference.
John Bryan Sajonia TGR SG 13 PTS | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 25.5 FPS
Once again, the Titan guard delivered, providing key contributions on both ends of the floor. He was on fire from deep, hitting a perfect 3-for-3 for his fifth double-digit scoring game of the conference while also averaging 3.5 stocks over his last two games.
Brandon Arnell Ganuelas-Rosser TNT C 13 PTS | 5 REB | 2 BLK | 24.5 FPS
In just his second game back from injury, the TNT forward already made a significant impact. He was a force inside the paint, collecting four offensive rebounds while also shooting 4-of-7 from two-point range to finish among the game’s leading local scorers.
Rey Benedict Nambatac TNT PG 13 PTS | 6 REB | 3 AST | 23.7 FPS
Despite struggling from two-point range over his last two games, converting just 7 of 26 attempts, the guard still notched his fifth double-digit scoring performance of the conference. Nambatac has been a reliable offensive presence for TNT this conference, shooting 27-of-59 from two-point range while knocking down 32 of his 36 free-throw attempts through six games.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY:
Deschon Winston NLX SG 9 PTS | 5 AST | 2 STL | 21.9 FPS
On the whole, Winston had a productive outing, making an impact across the board. However, this performance was far from his usual level offensively, as he attempted just eight shots and finished under double digits for the first time in the conference.
