Following the astounding game-winner made by LeBron James yesterday against the Indiana Pacers, the Los Angeles Lakers were once again in another close game against the blazing hot Chicago Bulls. However, this time, they were at the receiving end of a remarkable buzzer-beater.

The Lakers hopped on the road again for the third matchup of their four-game road trip. However, what could have been a game they already had on the palm of their hands turned out disappointing for the purple and gold.

White and Giddey Lead Bulls’ Epic Comeback Over Lakers

The Chicago Bulls came into Friday with a fantastic stretch. They’ve won 8 of their last 10 games, and they were obviously looking forward to keep the ball rolling.

But, the Lakers, who they previously beat horrendously last Sunday, had almost all hands on deck. With LeBron returning, the 2020 champs are healthy and ready to compete. As expected, they quickly dominated the Bulls and even had an 18-point lead at the fourth quarter.

The LA Lakers took it down a notch and relaxed for a bit in the final period, only for Coby White, Josh Giddey, and Patrick Williams to make a final push.

The Bulls made an epic comeback win, 119-117, after scoring 9 points in the final 12.6 seconds, including a Giddey hail mary three from halfcourt. The crowd went wild after the stunning buzzer-beater, making it one of the most, if not the most, insane finishes this season.

Giddey had one of hist most memorable performance in recent years after finishing with a triple-double of 24 points, 11 assists, and 14 rebounds. White led the Bulls with 26 while Kevin Huerter added 21.

Lakers’ Slump Continues

The Lakers were no slouch, but forgot to keep the pressure in crunch time. Austin Reaves finished with 30 points and Luka Doncic stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 7 assists, and 10 rebounds. LeBron James also had a good game, recording a 17-point 12-assist double-double.

This loss marks their fourth defeat in the last five games. Although they’re still at the top 4 of the standings (44-29), this continuous battle to win will take a toll on their championship hopes.

Luka even shared his thoughts about the loss, but didn’t have time to feel sorry for themselves after letting go of a game they could have won. Instead, he believes this is silver lining on how they can be unbeatable if they’re healthy and play 100% through four quarters.
