Game 6 of the 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals will show that the TNT Tropang 5G fended of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to extend the series to a winner-take-all Game 7. It will also be remembered as the night Chris McCullough and Justin Brownlee, two PBA champions, went mano-y-mano in a legendary duel that called to mind the high-scoring import battles of the 80s and 90s. Here are some numbers that tell the story of that game of one-upmanship that CMac ultimately won:
105
That’s the combined output of JB and CMac in Game 6. Combined, TNT and Ginebra scored 188, which means the two imports accounted for more than half of the total points in Game 6.
62.3%
Even with that obscene amount of points, Brownlee and McCullough weren’t necessarily just chucking shots up. In fact, they mostly got great looks—so much so that they made 62.3% of their attempts. In all, the two prolific imports let it fly 69 times—36 for CMac and 33 from JB. The former hit 20, and the latter made 23.
8-for-15
The two imports also did much of their scoring on three levels, and their combined 8-for-15 shooting from deep is proof of it. McCullough, though, was just a tad better as he went 5-for-9 from the arc, including two crucial ones down the stretch. Brownlee, on the other hand, went 3-for-6 from trey territory.
34
That’s how many points Brownlee fired in the second half as he once again carried the scoring load for Ginebra. It worked in Game 5—it didn’t in Game 6.
33
That’s how many points McCullough scored in the second half as he went mano-y-mano with one of the greatest imports ever to lace them up in Philippine hoops.
18 of 23
In all, Ginebra scored 23 points in the fourth quarter of Game 6. Brownlee accounted for 18 of them as he singlehandedly tried to win the championship for the barangay. He came close, but to no cigar.
16 of 23
A big reason Brownlee’s efforts went for naught was McCullough’s own prolific fourth quarter. With JB taking over, CMac did the same and fired 16 points in the final frame. Crucially, all of those points came in the final seven minutes of regulation.
Game 6 was more than just another Finals clash—it was a showcase of two imports at the peak of their powers. Justin Brownlee and Chris McCullough combined for a staggering 105 points, trading baskets in a duel that will be remembered as one of the greatest scoring battles in PBA history.
Now, the best part is they’ll get to do it again, for one last time this conference as Ginebra and TNT face off in Game 7 for the PBA Commissioner’s Cup crown.
