In a crucial matchup for playoff positioning, Omega Esports delivered, taking down TNC Pro Team in a hard-fought 2-1 victory in Week 4 of MPL PH S18.
Both sides entered the match on the heels of wins earlier in the week, making this fight an opportunity to maintain momentum and winning form while also taking a major step forward in the standings.
Raizen and Omega Esports Come Out Firing
Omega Esports quickly established control in Game 1, with Raizen and Minguin picking up two quick kills each within the first six minutes. That advantage allowed them to snowball into the midgame, seizing full control of the map and opening up a nearly 7K gold advantage in ten minutes. Omega stayed on the offensive in the following minutes, eventually tearing down all of TNC’s base towers by the 15-minute mark.
From there, the game was decided. Omega delivered the finishing touches shortly after, wiping out four members of TNC with Raizen completing the triple kill to close out the dominant win in Game 1.
TNC Pro Team struck first in Game 2, drawing two quick kills in the opening minutes, but Omega hit back hard, stringing together four unanswered kills to swing momentum to their side. TNC turned the tide in the first Lord fight. Outmaneuvering Omega around the objective, the Phoenix stole the Lord, wiped out three opponents, and reclaimed the lead.
The Phoenix had seized control at that point, but Omega stood their ground. At the 14-minute mark, they stopped TNC’s siege, punished two members, and forced them to retreat. The defense breathed new life into Omega and brought them right back into the fight.
But Jowm had no intention of letting the game slip away. Taking over in a 16-minute team fight, the TNC gold laner unleashed devastating damage, melting three key members of Omega, securing the win, and forcing a decider.
Omega Esports Finishes Strong
However, Game 3 was all Omega from the start. They dictated the early fights, building a huge 6-1 kill lead and a 7K gold advantage in just ten minutes. Then Cull came through with the winning play. With both teams locked in the Lord fight, Cull sneaked his way into TNC’s unguarded base and closed out the series.
It was a huge week for Omega Esports, securing back-to-back wins to climb into fourth place in the standings with a 4-3 record. However, a tough challenge awaits them in Week 5, where they will battle Aurora Gaming for that fourth spot. Things won’t get any easier after that, as they take on Team Liquid—who swept them in their previous matchup this season.
Meanwhile, TNC drops to 3-4 after losing three of their last four matches, but they’ll look to bounce back and get back on track in Week 5.
