La Salle Green Archers forward EJ Gollena has parted ways with the team after three seasons with the program, according to a report by Tiebreaker Times on Thursday.
Green Archers head coach Topex Robinson confirmed Gollena’s departure, marking the end of the 6‑foot‑3 swingman’s UAAP career with the Taft‑based squad.
According to the report, Gollena has yet to determine his next destination. Although he has already exhausted his UAAP eligibility, he still has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining should he decide to continue his career in the NCAA.
What’s Next for Gollena?
Gollena now becomes the second La Salle player this year to leave the program with remaining collegiate eligibility, following Kean Baclaan, who turned professional after signing with Caloocan in the MPBL last January.
During his time with the Green Archers, Gollena was part of two UAAP men’s basketball championship teams and helped the school capture two UAAP 3×3 titles.
Across 48 career UAAP games, Gollena averaged 4.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest. In his final season with La Salle, he improved those numbers to 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
With his UAAP stint now over, Gollena is expected to explore opportunities elsewhere as he looks to maximize his remaining two years of collegiate eligibility.
