Here are the players who made the biggest impact on April 15 and the stats to prove it.
TOP PERFORMERS OF THE DAY:
Mubashar Ali TER C 32 PTS | 19 REB | 3 BLK | 65.8 FPS
The big man put together a dominant performance, posting game highs in both points and rebounds while impacting the game in multiple areas. It was another excellent all-around effort from Ali, though efficiency remains a concern as he shot just 2-for-9 from three and committed seven turnovers.
Jaylen Rashawn Johnson ROS C 18 PTS | 12 REB | 10 AST | 54.4 FPS
Johnson continues to make his case for Best Import in the league, delivering excellent numbers across the board. While he finished with his conference-low in scoring, he made up for it with a team-high in rebounds and his best playmaking game of the tournament. This performance further proves that he’s not only one of the league’s best scorers but also one of its most versatile players.
Earl Michael Gilmore TGR C 26 PTS | 16 REB | 2 STL | 48.7 FPS
Though Gilmore finished with his fifth 25-point performance of the conference, his struggles were hard to ignore. He shot 6-for-16 from two and was much worse from outside the arc, shooting a combined 2-for-10. He was steadier on the boards, however, averaging 15.5 rebounds, which is the fifth-best in the league.
Jerrick Vincent Ahanmisi TER SG 21 PTS | 7 AST | 3 STL | 42.3 FPS
This was the guard’s sixth game in the conference scoring at least 18 points. It certainly wasn’t his best, as he struggled from three-point range, converting just 1-of-8 attempts. However, he compensated with perfect shooting from two while adding three four-pointers and also making a strong impact in other areas. Overall, it’s been an excellent year for Ahanmisi, averaging 22.3 points, 5.1 assists and 1.85 steals per game.
Brent Paraiso TER SG 19 PTS | 10 REB | 6 AST | 40.0 FPS
Paraiso was out of the lineup in their first few games of the conference and also failed to make an impact during their recent two-game stretch. However, he’s starting to find some rhythm lately, delivering a high-impact performance against TNT and stepping it up further today. In the previous conference, he was also a vital contributor, averaging 7.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
Joshua Eugene Munzon TGR SF 15 PTS | 4 AST | 6 STL | 37.0 FPS
It was a rough night for Munzon offensively, as he finished 5-for-17 from the field, including an even worse 1-for-6 showing from three. However, he made up for it by recording a conference-best in steals. While Munzon has struggled to find consistent scoring this conference, he’s still very capable of lighting it up when needed. He has already produced three 25-point games in the tournament.
Anton Rafael Asistio ROS SG 18 PTS | 3 AST | 2 STL | 30.9 FPS
Performances like this haven’t come often for Asistio, but he’s definitely capable of getting hot on offense. He knocked down 4-of-6 from deep today and also added a four-pointer to match the team-high in points. He had a similar game last conference, hitting 6-of-8 from three to finish with 20 points against Phoenix.
Joseph Emmanuel Eriobu TER SF 16 PTS | 7 REB | 2 AST | 28.4 FPS
The wing has established himself as a key part of Terrafirma this conference, providing the team with an offensive spark off the bench. This was his fourth game this tournament, scoring in double figures and also his fourth with at least six rebounds.
Justin Arana CON C 19 PTS | 2 REB | 3 AST | 25.9 FPS
Though Arana had an underwhelming start to the conference, he may be turning the corner. He just delivered his first back-to-back games with double-figure scoring, shooting a highly efficient 17-for-23 from two-point range across both outings. However, he hasn’t quite put it all together, finishing with a conference-low total in rebounding today and averaging just 5.8 boards per game.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY:
Alec June Stockton CON SG 6 PTS | 3 REB | 3 AST | 12.1 FPS
Stockton was off to a strong start this conference, averaging 17.0 points in his first four games while also making a big impact on defense. However, he has struggled to sustain that level of play in two of his last three games.
