Here are the players who made the biggest impact on July 18 and the stats to highlight their impact.

TOP PERFORMERS OF THE DAY:

Juan Miguel Tiongson TER PG 27 PTS | 6 REB | 7 AST |

Tiongson made a statement against San Miguel, scoring 18 points in the second half to bring his team back into the game. Though they fell short, he still delivered his best performance of the season, shooting 11-for-20 from the field and knocking down five three-pointers.

Maverick Ahanmisi TER SG 20 PTS | 7 REB | 6 AST

Limited to just six points in the loss to Converge, the veteran bounced back with an elite all-around performance. He set a new conference-high in scoring while shooting 8-of-14 from the field. Through four games this conference, he has been playing at a high level, averaging 7.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.

Brent Paraiso TER SG 10 PTS | 5 AST | 5 STL

The shooting guard was a major difference-maker in this contest. Offensively, he finally cracked double-digit scoring this conference, shooting a solid 4-for-9 from the field. While he contributed well across the rest of the stat sheet, he was most impressive on the defensive end, where he finished with a season-high in steals.

Shaun Geoffrey Chiu TER C 9 PTS | 10 REB | 1 BLK

Compared to how he started the conference, this was a relatively quiet game for the #1 overall pick. Still, he recorded double-digit rebounds for the tenth time in his career.

George King SMB SG 37 PTS | 14 REB | 3 STL

King continues to stand out delivering another dominant 30-point performance. He started hot, scoring 21 points in the first half and finished strong, scoring nine points in the fourth quarter to help his team secure the win. Expect plenty more explosive performances from him moving forward.

Jaymar Perez SMB SG 22 PTS | 4 AST | 4 STL

Despite some inefficiency, Perez still managed to get the job done, posting his second consecutive 20-point game of the conference. In the Commissioner’s Cup, he reached that mark six times.

Celedonio Trollano SMB SF 17 PTS | 2 REB | 1 AST

Trollano continues to be reliable on the offensive end, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line to finish as one of the team’s top scorers. In the previous conference, he was also very consistent offensively, scoring in double-figures in every game and averaging 14 points.

Aaron Fuller ROS PF 28 PTS | 10 REB | 1 STL

Through two games this conference, Fuller has been steady for Rain or Shine. He’s been highly effective from two-point range, going 26-for-34 while also recording back-to-back 10-rebound performances.

Adrian Clarence Nocum ROS SG 21 PTS | 7 AST | 4 STL

The guard excelled in many ways against Meralco. Offensively, he sparked his team in the second quarter by scoring 12 points and finished with a highly efficient performance to lead all local players in scoring. It was his sixth 20-point performance since the previous conference. He was just as impressive in other areas, finishing with a game-high in assists and steals.

Vince Petdeo Cuajao ROS SG 19 PTS | 2 REB | 1 STL

The rookie came out firing, scoring 13 points on three three-pointers in the first quarter before finishing with a new career high in points. With Mamuyac traded, he could be primed for a much bigger role this conference.

Caelan Todd Tiongson ROS PF 9 PTS | 5 REB | 2 STL

Tiongson’s offense hasn’t clicked through the first two games, but he’s still making an impact. He’s been dependable on the boards with back-to-back five-rebound performances. In the previous conference, he accomplished that seven times across 16 games.

Jason Alexander Brickman MER PG 19 PTS | 7 AST | 3 STL

The rookie guard led the way offensively for Meralco, scoring all of his points in the first three quarters to finish as their top local scorer. The performance marked a career-high in scoring and his eighth double-digit scoring game of the season.

Christopher Clark Banchero MER PG 15 PTS | 3 REB | 2 AST

The guard was a key part of the team’s third-quarter run, scoring eight points. He was also perfect from four-point range, knocking down all three of his attempts to finish as the team’s third-leading scorer.

Kier John Quinto MER SF 14 PTS | 5 REB | 1 STL

It took a while for Quinto to get his rhythm but he delivered when it mattered, scoring all of his points in the second half. This was his tenth double-digit scoring game since the last conference.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE DAY:

Jhonard Clarito ROS PF 8 PTS | 6 REB | 2 STL

Overall, this was a decent stat line for the forward. He made his presence felt in multiple ways, finishing second in the team in rebounding while also going 4-for-5 from two. However, with the team dropping its first two games of the conference, they’ll certainly need more offensively from Clarito moving forward.
