Stephen Loman is stacking the deck in his favor ahead of his first fight in three years by tapping the services of two familiar faces in the Philippines’ MMA landscape.
The inaugural BRAVE CF bantamweight world champion will share the cage with No. 1‑ranked 135‑pounder Lasha Abramishvili in the co‑headliner of BRAVE CF 108 on Saturday, September 5.
With a potential fast track to fighting for the currently vacant bantamweight throne on the line, Loman decided to call on the help of former BRAVE CF athlete Jeremy Pacatiw and “The Face of Philippine MMA” Eduard Folayang, who will serve as his cornermen during fight night.
The pair has also been hard at work to ensure that “The Sniper” will have no concerns about ring rust once he steps inside the historic Pula Arena in Pula, Croatia.
“I’m happy that I’ll be with them. I really need people who truly understand my game and have been with me throughout camp. It’s good because they can see the adjustments I need to make in the fight,” Loman explained.
Folayang, Pacatiw to Bolster Loman’s Chances
Folayang’s involvement is a major factor for the 27‑year‑old, as his wealth of experience will be pivotal between rounds and once the bell rings. After all, the “Landslide” is a two‑time lightweight MMA world champion with ONE Championship, and he also serves as the head of Lions Nation MMA.
Meanwhile, Pacatiw is no stranger to the BRAVE CF spotlight. “Juggernaut” competed in 10 bouts throughout his three‑year tenure with the company from 2016 to 2019, and continues to hold the distinction of traveling and fighting in more countries than any other fighter on their roster.
Their presence on the sidelines, Loman hopes, will bolster the Lions Nation MMA product’s chances of a victory.
“Of course, there are things that I might not see or notice during the fight. I need them to be my voice of reason while I’m in there. At the same time, I want them with me to make sure I’m completely ready before I step into the cage,” he mentioned.
“I’m happy because this is a new chapter for me. At the same time, I’m excited to represent the team. So I’ll really do my best.”
