The loss to Omega proved to be nothing more than a minor setback for Team Falcons as they quickly responded in a much bigger way, securing their second straight win while handing ONIC their first loss of the season with an impressive 2‑1 victory in Week 3 of MPL PH S18 on September 5.
Cold‑Blooded Savero Powers ONIC
For weeks, the Super Family had looked nearly invincible, storming to five consecutive wins to open the season. That dominance appeared set to continue after ONIC delivered a clutch Game 1 performance.
ONIC struck first, securing the first two Turtles and establishing control of the game. Savero spearheaded their attack, picking up three early kills. The Falcons were forced onto the defensive from there.
Near the 12‑minute mark, however, the Season 17 runners‑up finally found a big opening. A miscalculation from SuperFrince was quickly punished by the Falcons, giving them the man advantage. They immediately followed it up with a pickoff on Kirk, putting ONIC in further trouble.
Kingkong managed to pick up a kill on Flap as the Falcons closed in, but he was eventually taken down as well. Still, his resistance allowed the rest of the Super Family to retreat and avoid giving the Falcons an even bigger advantage.
Momentum shifted toward the Falcons as they secured the Lord at the 16‑minute mark. But just when they appeared ready to take control of the game, Savero took matters into his own hands. The Indonesian star showcased his incredible mechanics, dancing around danger while freely raining damage onto the Falcons and cutting them down one by one. He singlehandedly flipped the fight, nearly securing a “Savage” to lift ONIC to victory.
Team Falcons Unleash Their Secret Weapon
Though their comeback ultimately fell short, Team Falcons bounced back in Game 2 with an unexpected surprise as SuperMarco brought out the Miya.
Miya is undoubtedly one of the most favored heroes among lower‑skilled players in ranked games. However, it often fails, earning it the moniker “Dark System.” The same applies to the professional scene, where the hero has rarely found a place in competitive drafts. That made SuperMarco’s decision all the more surprising—and potentially risky.
But Marco knew how to make it work. He proved it early in the game, winning a 1v1 fight against Savero’s Melissa not just once, but twice. With that perfect start, Miya only continued to scale. After securing key items, the hero kept dishing out massive damage that ONIC simply couldn’t answer, allowing the Falcons to force a Game 3.
Off the back of that performance, SuperMarco was named MVP of the game with a clinical 6/1/5 KDA. Their mid duo was just as crucial to the win: Hadji was on point with his Selena arrows, causing endless problems for ONIC to finish with a 4/1/5 stat line, while Owgwen delivered brilliant playmaking with the Khufra.
Undeterred, ONIC met the challenge head‑on in Game 3, going up against SuperMarco’s Miya once again. But in the end, it was the Falcons who got the last laugh, completing the reverse sweep as SuperMarco closed out the series with another MVP performance.
