FEU Lady Tamaraw playmaker Tin Ubaldo is set to take the next step in her volleyball journey, closing out a five-year collegiate career as she prepares for the 2026 PVL Draft.

Ubaldo exits the UAAP ranks as one of the league’s steady setters, finishing fourth in the best setter race with an average of 3.96 excellent sets per set.

“Ay, wala na akong choice. Opo, papasok ako sa PBA Draft, joke,” she quipped following FEU’s season-ending loss to the UST Golden Tigresses.

Tin Ubaldo Steers FEU Turnaround

From a one-win debut season in UAAP Season 84, Ubaldo grew into a central figure in FEU’s rebuilding years, helping steer the Lady Tamaraws back into contention in a field led by the La Salle Lady Spikers, NU Lady Bulldogs, and UST Golden Tigresses.

After narrowly missing the Final Four in Season 85, she played a key role in back-to-back semifinal appearances in Seasons 86 and 87 before the Lady Tamaraws fell short of the stepladder in Season 88.

Despite the early exit, Ubaldo took pride in the team’s fight and emphasized the values that defined their campaign.

“’Yung lagi kong sinasabi sa kanila ay ‘yung discipline talaga. Hindi lang sa loob ng court, pati sa labas. Kung ano ‘yung agenda or alam niyo ‘yon, kung paano kayo sa every day. ‘Yon kasi ‘yung importante pag athlete ka, inside and outside the court,” she said.

Leaving with Gratefulness

Tin Ubaldo also credited the FEU coaching staff, led by head coach Tina Salak, for shaping her growth both as a player and as a person.

“Very grateful sa lahat naman ng mga coaches. Sila naman ‘yung nagtutulong para tulungan at i-guide kami. Super happy at grateful ako na sila ‘yung nag-guide sa’kin, pati si Coach Manolo [Refugia],” Ubaldo expressed.

“’Yung character talaga na na-build sa akin sa FEU. Mula first year hanggang fifth year, na-develop ko talaga ‘yung iba’t ibang positive na character tsaka attitude towards sa sarili at towards sa kasama.”

As she transitions to the professional stage, Tin Ubaldo brings not just experience but also the discipline and character forged through years of competition—tools she hopes will carry her forward in the PVL.
