After being in foul trouble and even receiving a technical foul, the star guard of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, Mark Gojo Cruz, said that entering Game 2 of the Semifinals playing against Colegio de San Juan de Letrán he wouldn’t want to go on an early vacation just yet.
Fell for the Tactic used by the Letrán Knights
The ½ of Dynamic Duo for the Perpetual Altas was definitely neutralized by the “mind games” played by the Letrán Knights on him during his NCAA Season 101 Final Four debut.
The physicality played by the Knights not only resulted in getting Gojo Cruz to have 3 fouls come halftime, it also translated to totally disrupting his shooting and giving them the Game 1 loss.
How bad did the 20 year old perform at the end of the game? He went 4-out-of-13 from the field and only scored 10 points as well as having 4 fouls.
When asked by Rebanse during the postgame interview on what are some of the “good habits” that their team can bring out from this loss, he said he just needs to avoid getting lured to committing unnecessary fouls.
“Actually madami, yun nga isa na yung huwag na ako magpadala sa ganung tactics. And itong game na to madaming lesson para sa akin and dadalhin ko yun para sa next game and hopefully talaga makuha na namin.”
No Wanting That Early Vacation Just Yet
Aside from avoiding getting into some foul troubles come Game 2, the 6-foot guard then told the media that he doesn’t want to go on an early vacation just yet.
A statement even their Head Coach Olsen Racela voiced in their locker rooms adding that it feels great to play some NCAA Playoffs basketball come the month of December.
“And kailangan namin talaga, ayoko pa mag bakasyon eh. Sabi nga ni ni Coach Olsen, ang sarap pala sa feeling na naglalaro na ng December kase ngayon lang din siya.”
The Perpetual Altas would try and even their semifinals series against the Letrán Knights come this Friday, December 5 at the Mall of Asia Arena by 2:30 PM.
