Last Sunday, former NCAA champion Agjanti Miller faced his former team, the San Beda Red Lions, in AsiaBasket‘s NSAC 2026—and the emotions were complicated.
The La Salle Green Archers and San Beda went at it in a neck-and-neck battle, with the highlight coming in the third quarter when Agjanti Miller and fellow former Red Lion Jacob Cortez combined to spark a Green Archer surge. Despite the effort, La Salle fell short, 77–76.
A Weird Welcome Back for Agjanti Miller
Agjanti Miller had nothing but kind words for his old team after the final buzzer.
“It feels weird, bro. I’m always on the other side with San Beda, so it feels weird to come on this side—but I’m happy where I’m at and it’s an honor to play them,” he said in an exclusive interview with Rebanse.
The 6-foot-4 Fil-Am guard was one of the standout players in NCAA Season 101, averaging 20.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and shooting 43% from the field in his lone stint with the men in red and white. On Sunday, however, he had a rough outing, finishing with just 4 points, 1 assist, and 3 turnovers on 2-of-8 shooting in 15 minutes of play.
The result did nothing to dampen his appreciation for what he left behind. “They looked good this year. I like the way they are going. It was just good to come out here and play with my old brothers,” Miller added.

Still Finding Chemistry
Miller was candid about where things stand with his new teammates—particularly his partnership with UAAP Season 88 champion Jacob Cortez, who led La Salle with 16 points, 7 assists, and 1 steal.
“We’re just getting to know each other—everybody getting to know each other right now, so that’s about it,” Miller said.
The ex-Red Lion made no secret of what this window means for him and Cortez, knowing their time together on the floor has an expiration date.
“Just getting to know each other, have fun while we can—’cause we can’t play the upcoming UAAP season together, so we’d like to have fun while we can,” Miller told Rebanse.
The chemistry is still a work in progress, and both Agjanti Miller and Jacob Cortez will need time to find their rhythm alongside each other. Up next for DLSU is a matchup against the Kieffer Alas-led Ateneo Blue Eagles—a test that will tell us whether Miller time has arrived in green and white.
