After dropping their first game in the NBA playoffs, the Detroit Pistons turned all tides back to their favor, as they dealt the Orlando Magic a 98-83 blowout in Game 2 on Thursday.

After pacing the Game 1 loss with 39 points, Cade Cunningham followed it up by flirting with a triple-double of 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 11 assists.

“It’s Pistons basketball, and that’s what it looks like. I know what our guys are, we trusted that they were gonna come back tonight, be the best version of themselves,” head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said postgame.

Pistons Unleash Insane Scoring Run After Halftime

Entering the second half with the score tied at 46-all, Detroit unleashed a whopping 30-3 scoring run to drain all of Orlando’s momentum. The third quarter eventually ended with the Pistons more than doubling the Magic’s point total, 38-13.

With the victory, the top-seeded Pistons got on the board and notched their first home playoff win in 18 years.

Veteran forward Tobias Harris added 16 points and 11 boards, while Isaiah Stewart chipped in 10 points off the bench in a perfect shooting night.

Magic Return to Homecourt With One Win in Their Pockets

Despite the loss, Orlando will still have the slight edge in the series, as they will fly back to their home floor carrying one win in their pockets.

Paolo Banchero led the Magic in the loss with an all-around effort of 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Jalen Suggs led his team’s offense with 19 markers.

“We did our job, getting one win here on the road. One thing to take back home is we can’t go through droughts like that, I think we’ll learn from it,” Paolo Banchero said postgame.

The Magic will look to retaliate by taking Game 3 on their homecourt on Sunday, April 26.
