Still keeping their playoff campaign flawless, the Oklahoma City Thunder dealt the Los Angeles Lakers the knockout blow, 115-110, to complete the sweep in Game 4 on Tuesday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 35 points and 8 assists led the team to its second straight trip to the Conference Finals, completing back-to-back series sweeps.

“It was basketball at its highest form. We were going back and forth… but hats off to both teams, fought like hell, but yeah, Thunder win,” Gilgeous-Alexander said postgame.

Thunder Advance to Third Round Without a Loss—Yet

With the victory, OKC now marks its eighth straight win in the 2026 NBA Playoffs. Through two rounds, no team has yet put a dent in the Thunder’s championship bid.

The spitfire guard duo of Jared McCain and Ajay Mitchell continues to add scoring to the already deadly OKC offense, combining for 41 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Meanwhile, franchise big man Chet Holmgren flirted with a double-double of 16 points and 9 rebounds.

Despite riding a tidal wave of momentum, the Conference Finals will pose no easy task for OKC, as they are set to face the San Antonio Spurs or the Minnesota Timberwolves—two teams that gave them headaches during the regular season.

Shorthanded Lakers Run Out of Gas, LeBron’s Future Remains Uncertain

With the loss, LA’s up-and-down season—riddled with injuries, most notably to star Slovenian guard Luka Doncic—has reached its finish line, extending the championship drought to six years.

Returning guard Austin Reaves had a chance to tie the game in the dying seconds, but his shot from deep ultimately failed to bank in. He finished with a team-high 27 points.

Meanwhile, LeBron James has completed yet another historic season, his 23rd. However, rumors have begun to swirl about his next basketball chapter—not only a “where,” but an “if.”

“I don’t know what the future holds for me. I got a lot of time, I’ll sit back… and recalibrate with my family, and then when the time comes, you guys will know,” James said postgame.

The Lakers finished the 2026 season with a 53-29 slate, marking their highest win total under new head coach JJ Redick.
