The Los Angeles Lakers came into the Fiserv Forum without LeBron James, yet they were optimistic about ending their road trip drought with Luka Doncic on the floor. However, the Milwaukee Bucks seized the opportunity to bully the Lakers by using their size advantage, resulting in a tough 20-point victory, 126-106.
Basketball fans were astonished with Doncic’s finest performance as a Laker after the Luka Magic stuffed the statsheet with 45 points, 3 assists, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. The Slovenian hotshot tried to push a rally in the final two quarters, but the Bucks just wouldn’t budge.
Ultimately, Milwaukee came away with the dub, thanks to a combined effort from Giannis Antetokounmpo (24 points), Brook Lopez (23), Damian Lillard (22), and Kevin Porter Jr. (22).
Despite another epic performance, Luka couldn’t care less. In his own words, “Nothing matters if we lose the game”, implying that all he cares about is winning. The LA Lakers have now dropped their third consecutive road game.
Nevertheless, Lakers fans are ecstatic to see Doncic slowly becoming the cornerstone of the purple and gold franchise, especially with LeBron James nearing retirement.
Could this be the perfect passing of the torch?
Luka Makes Lakers History (Again)
Alongside his first 45-point game as a Laker, Luka Doncic also records another milestone in Lakers history. In the game against the Bucks on Friday, Luka became the second Laker to record 29 points in the first half, just next to Kobe Bryant. This stat has only been recorded since the inception of the play-by-play era.
Moreover, he also joins Kobe and LBJ as the only Laker players to record 25+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ three-pointers made in a single game.
