Alas Pilipinas Men will bring back some of their biggest names as the men’s indoor volleyball team heads to the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo return to the national team after missing the SEA V Cup earlier this year, giving the Philippines a veteran presence on the wings for the continental tournament.
Veteran Wings Lead the Charge for Alas Pilipinas Men
Bagunas, who plays for Osaka, and Espejo of the TSG Skyhawks will lead the outside hitters alongside National University standout Buds Buddin and Criss Cross’ Jude Garcia.
Adrian Villados of Criss Cross and Greg Ancheta of NU will handle the setting duties, while Josh Ybañez takes charge as the team’s lone libero.
Leo Ordiales of NU will play opposite alongside Far Eastern University’s Lirick Mendoza, while Rwenzmel Taguibolos, Lloyd Josafat, and Joshua Magalaman will comprise the middle blockers.
Beach Volleyball Representation
The men’s squad will look to make its mark against Asia’s best when the Asian Games get underway in Aichi-Nagoya.
Meanwhile, the country’s beach volleyball teams will also be represented by familiar names, with Ranran Abdilla and Ronniel Rosales, and Lerry Francisco and James Buytrago set to compete for the men’s side.
