The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to roar with momentum, as they neared the knockout punch on the Phoenix Suns’ season after dealing them another loss, 121-109, on Sunday.
Enemy territory left Shai Gilgeous-Alexander unfazed as he continued to lead the charge with 42 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists—all while shooting at an 82% clip.
“We were good, they jumped on us early… We just stuck with our principles, we did a good job of just staying true to who we are, and we came out here with a W,” Gilgeous-Alexander said postgame.
Thunder Continue to Roll Without Jalen Williams
Despite losing the services of All-Star forward Jalen Williams, who left early in Game 2 after suffering a hamstring injury, the Thunder continue to stay hot as they near a series sweep.
Alex Caruso provided much spark off the bench, notching 13 points, 5 rebounds, and a team-high +16, while Ajay Mitchell added 15 markers.
The Thunder defense continued to suffocate the Suns, as they were forced to just 32% shooting from beyond the arc.
Dillon Brooks Continues Hot Shooting, But Phoenix’s Season Starting to Look Dim
With the loss, the Suns now fall to 0-3 in the series. No team in the NBA’s 79-year history has ever come back from that deficit.
Dillon Brooks continues to spearhead the Phoenix offense, dropping 33 points and 7 rebounds, while Jalen Green added 26 points. Meanwhile, Devin Booker continues his shooting slump, notching only 16 points on 37.5% shooting.
The Thunder will look to complete the sweep in Game 4 on Tuesday.
