The Cignal Super Spikers shrugged off a slow start and turned things around in dominant fashion.
After dropping the opening set, Cignal overwhelmed the Farm Fresh Foxies, 23-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-12, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Farm Fresh struck first behind a late surge in the opening frame. Trailing 17-18, the Foxies mounted a 4-0 run sparked by Royse Tubino’s back-to-back aces, an off-the-block hit from Ara Galang, and an attack error from Erika Santos to take a 21-18 lead.
Cignal threatened late, cutting the deficit to one, 21-22, but Galang and Alohi Robins-Hardy steadied Farm Fresh to reach set point, 24-21. The Super Spikers made one last push behind Roselyn Doria-Aquino and Vanie Gandler, but Trisha Tubu’s off-speed attack sealed the set for the Foxies.
From there, however, it was all Cignal.
Cignal Seizes Control
The Super Spikers dominated the next three sets with control on both ends, turning the match into a one-sided affair behind sharper execution and sustained pressure.
“I think siguro ‘yung tamang galaw namin, paano rin kami nag-prepare, and kung anong meron talaga ‘yung team namin,” said head coach Shaq delos Santos.
“Kailangan gumalaw kami nang mabilis pero nasa tamang timing. Malaking factor din ‘yung serve and receive namin, kaya nakuha namin ‘yung game,” he added.
Erika Santos led the Super Spikers with 21 points, while Gandler added 18 points built on 13 attacks, 3 blocks, and 2 aces. Tin Tiamzon chipped in 11 points and 13 excellent digs.
Gel Cayuna orchestrated the offense with 16 excellent sets, while Dawn Catindig anchored the defense with 24 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.
For Farm Fresh, Tubu finished with 13 points, while Tubino added 12.
